Satinwood Burl and Balah Fibonacci Stick

$1,500.00

This handsome Fibonacci staff is a wood grain lover's paradise! The handle is satinwood burl from Laos, a super intricate burl grain that is loaded with countless tinny burl eyes, all in a swirly, burly grain. Inlayed into the top is an ammonite fossil from Madagascar. This sea creature was alive 150 million years ago during the time of the dinosaurs, its now extinct and has fossilized into colorful agate which has preserved the intricacies of its shell. The spiral of the ammonite is why this walking stick is called a "Fibonacci stick", and also the inspiration for the hand carved spiraled shaft. The shaft is ringed belah wood form Australia with a strong curl figure. My favorite part of the shaft though is a blend of sapwood and heartwood on one side that is very attractive and accentuated by the spiral. The top is suitable for most hand sizes with a maximum diameter of 2 inches (52mm) with a rounded top that fits in the palm nicely. It is completed with a handsome ferrule bottom and low profile rubber tip, total length measures 37 1/4" and can not be adjusted.
