Gidgee, Mammoth, and Ebony Cane
Gidgee, Mammoth, and Ebony Cane
This heirloom quality cane is handcrafted from a fantastic piece of gidgee wood from Australia. This arid region acacia species grows on the fringes of the outback in Eastern Australia and its basically tied for the densest wood in the world. This piece of gidgee has such a wild grain that it looks like burl wood. The divider on this piece is a rarity from an age past - its a piece of molar from the extinct woolly mammoth. The molar was excavated from the Siberian permafrost where it laid buried in ice since the last ice age, at least 10,000 years, potentially much longer. Not only is the molar strikingly beautiful, it has a great story. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
