Rosewood and Ironwood Bird Cane
Rosewood and Ironwood Bird Cane
This heirloom quality, hand crafted bird cane is made using a laminated construction method for the handle. Lamination adds strength and visual interest. The outsides of the handle are old growth Mexican Cocobolo, the next layer is old growth Brazilian rosewood, and the center is golden desert ironwood from Arizona. There is matching ironwood and Brazilian rosewood in the divider along with brass. A chatoyant shaft of Caribbean rosewood completes this eye-catching bird cane. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
During use your index finger wraps comfortably underneath the "beak". Designed to imply motion and flight, the handle is poised slightly forward in relation to the shaft. Therefore, the weight bearing portion of the handle is directly over the shaft, giving the piece a very stable feel.
