A piece from the “feather collection” of summer 2022; avian inspired canes implying motion and flight.

A "Bird of Prey" cane made exclusively from Honduran Rosewood with a burl handle and curl figured shaft. Rosewood is precious timber to begin with, but burls on rosewood trees are exceptionally rare; it might be one in a thousand trees that grows a burl, and the burl needs to grow for a long time to be large enough to use. The quality, size, and rarity of the handle on this cane puts this piece into the category of "once in a lifetime woods". The shaft is figured too with large broad curls down its length. The bird of prey handle is my all-time favorite handle, It was my first ever bird-inspired handle design as well. It's very comfortable and has a really striking style. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
