Figured Rosewood and Dinosaur Bone Cane
Figured Rosewood and Dinosaur Bone Cane
Surely, this cane belongs in a museum! It features spectacular figured rosewood, dinosaur bone, and landscape Ziricote. The handle is "once in a lifetime wood". its a rare rosewood species to begin with, and grain as wildly figured as this example is exponentially rarer. It is Dalbergia Dongnaiensis, a rosewood so obscure that it only has a Latin scientific name, and its from S. E. Asia. Once this material is gone - I'll never see more. The end of the handle is adorned with a stunning piece of Utah dinosaur bone (yes, its bone from a dinosaur!). The bone has fossilized into stone after millions of years in the desert and has taken on a unique array of black and orangy-red (like the rosewood). The cell structure of the bone is still clearly visible after replacement fossilization into agate. A brass dividers leads into a landscape figured Ziricote shaft.
Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
