Oliveri Rosewood and Jasper Cane

$1,500.00

This heirloom quality cane is handcrafted from a rosewood species so obscure that it doesn't have a "common name" in the Western world, only its Latin scientific name: Dalbergia Oliveri. It's dense and durable, full of rich color, and has a lovely chatoyance, plus this example has lovely grain. This wood is taken from the crotch of a large tree and has special grain because of that. The dark purple lines running across the grain and the fine chatoyant curls that are running almost parallel to the grain are completely unique, I've never seen another piece of wood like it! The divider matches the handle and the shaft is regular Oliveri rosewood without a notable figure - even still its grain and color is magnificent. Warm copper metal and an end piece of Mexican imperial jasper completes the cane. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
