A live edge maple top inspired the natural theme of this “A Walk in the Woods” cane stand. It features a “slab” style top with a natural “live edge” which is part of the outside diameter of the tree, it has a smooth, wavy texture that is a pleasure to touch. The tree theme carries into the ends of the stand, which are shaped like a tree. Some of the tree branches reach though the top while others meet the bottom of the top for a nice look that is structurally secure. The bottom rail is tenoned through the ends, and pinned in place with a wedge shaped like a bird. This is a classic joint that is beautiful and decorative, but shaping the pin to look like a bird carries the “woods” theme just a bit farther. The bottom rail is complete with natural toned leather that gives each cane a soft seat. Overall this cane stand is a unique, artistic piece that can hold 13 canes.
