Rosewood and Eucalyptus Bird

$500.00

This heirloom quality, hand crafted bird cane is made using two pretty woods. The handle is Oliveri Rosewood, which is short for its Latin scientific name: Dalbergia Oliveri. It is a rare species from S. E. Asia that can be highly chatoyant with gorgeous colors, this particular handle has both. The divider is warm copper that flows into a shaft of curl figured Eucalyptus wood from Australia. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.

During use your index finger wraps comfortably underneath the "beak". Designed to imply motion and flight, the handle is poised slightly forward in relation to the shaft. Therefore, the weight bearing portion of the handle is directly over the shaft, giving the piece a very stable feel.
