Gidgee Bird Cane
Gidgee Bird Cane
This is truly an outstanding bird cane, function, beautiful, and unique. The whole thing is made from rare “Gidgee” wood, an arid region acacia species that grows on the fringes of the Australian outback. This small, stunted tree rarely produces long length of clean timber, so its especially nice to be able to offer a gidgee cane shaft. The handle though, wow! It has exhibition grade curl figure that’s 3d looking and chatoyant. Gidgee wood is among the densest woods in the world, its a profoundly heavy and durable timber. In the divider is brass and a centerpiece of S. American snakewood. This piece is among my heaviest canes, users of small stature my tire with long periods of use. It would make a great daily use cane. Total length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.
