Amboyna Burl Raptor's Claw
Amboyna Burl Raptor's Claw
A light and bright raptor’s claw cane with exotic woods. The handle is entirely amboyna burl sapwood, an interesting piece considering most amboyna is a darker reddish color. Sapwood is the outermost layers of a tree and is the part that conducts sap between the roots and leaves. Its grain is beautiful with intricate burl patterns. This is however not a high-quality piece of amboyna and priced accordingly. Upon inspection of the pictures you will find some filled-in insect tracks various places on the handle wood. It is also less dense than normal amboyna, but that is not a negative, simply a difference. This cane is light in weight, nimble, and easily caried on long days. Wouldn’t be a recommendation for a larger person looking to bear weight on it. Total length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.
