Desert Ironwood Burl Curl Cane
Desert Ironwood Burl Curl Cane
This is curl cane is made out of fabulous desert ironwood burl and a striped ebony shaft. Desert ironwood is my favorite wood in the world, which is quite a statement after working with countless species. Its dense, durable, stable, and very attractive with a fine chatoyance. The handle design is large enough to be comfortable for most hand sizes and feels good for daily use. This is one of my largest handle designs so very special to be able to offer something like it in such a rare wood from a small tree. Most Ironwood burl isn’t big enough for even the smallest cane handle. The divider is brass and the shaft is a nice piece of striped ebony. These woods are dark but the grain can be appreciated even in dim light. This is a heavy cane, it has a substantial feel in hand and is obviously a quality piece made out of dense hardwood. Users of small stature may tired using this cane for a long time. Total length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.
