Ironwood Burl & Imbuia Wood Cane
Ironwood Burl & Imbuia Wood Cane
After working with countless woods I can confidently say I have a favorite species - Desert Ironwood from Arizona. The handle on this piece is desert ironwood burl, its outstanding quality material with burl eye figured grain throughout, it is also very dense and durable wood. It is mostly a dark, chocolate brown color ranging into a lighter brown in one area on one side. Take this desert ironwood burl into the sunlight and see its amazing and chatoyant grain come to life! The divider area has 4 layers of brass, two layers of ancient sinker Tasmanian blackwood, and a center of lace figured Sheoak wood. Finally the shaft is a particularly nice example of rare Imbuia wood from Brazil. This piece has contrasting grain producing beautiful patterns, curl figure, and chatoyance. A wonderful exotic wood cane, its suitable for daily use. Its weight is average, it could be used and enjoyed by most anyone. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
