Acacia Curl Cane
Acacia Curl Cane
This gorgeous cane has some remarkable grain and rich color. The handle is made from salvage harvested Tasmanian blackwood from the Tasmania. The grain in the handle is quilted with deep 3D looking ripples, it's hard to believe the surface is flat! Tasmanian blackwood is extremely chatoyant with grain that catches and moves with light. This piece might look nice in the pictures but I can share with confidence that ‘considerably nicer to see and feel in person. The shaft is a great fit, its Hawaiian Koa wood, also shimmery and chatoyant, a Hawaiian wood species with legendary reputation among many communities of makers and collectors. Koa and Tasmanian blackwood are both closely related species in the Acacia family of trees and seeing them side by side its very hard to tell they are different species at all. The centerpiece in the divider is layers of burlap fabric, it has an interesting look upon close inspection. Its accompanied by layers of brass and thin Tasmanian blackwood. Medium weight, suitable for most any users to enjoy. Could be used daily, fully functional and comfortable. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
