Ultra Curly Siam Rosewood and Lignum Cane
Ultra Curly Siam Rosewood and Lignum Cane
This heirloom quality cane features a spectacular Siam rosewood handle. Siam rosewood is a very rare wood and it also has an excellent chatoyance. The highlight of this piece is the extremely tight and defined curl figure - incredibly rare! This is some of the best and tightest curl figure I have ever seen, and combined with the species of wood and the rainbow of colors, this is unicorn-grade wood! I will never see more of this wood again after is it gone, its "once in a lifetime wood". The divider on this cane is the same rosewood species as the handle but is from a burl, even rarer. A green verawood shaft ties the cane together well by complementing the green tones in the handle. Verawood is the most green colored wood I know of, and its profoundly dense and durable, it is a related species to Lignum vitae and most people call verawood “lignum”, though that’s not actually correct. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
NOTE: There are a couple hairline cracks in the top of the handle, they do not compromise the structural integrity of the cane. I would not normally except them in my work, if it was not such a rare piece of wood - a compromise.
