"Nightfall"
"Nightfall"
Introducing “Nightfall”, one of my unique extraterrestrial canes that features iron/nickel meteorite from outer space! Adorning the end of the traditional handle and in the divider are pieces of the iron Aletai meteorite, found in the Xinjiang region of China. Frist discovered in the late 1800’s, the Aletai meteor was a large iron meteor estimated at over 70 tones, when it impacted earth it created a field of scattered fragments over 150 square miles. Fragments are still being collected to this day, often buried feet beneath the ground. The unique patterns in the metal are called “Widmanstätten patterns” and formed over millions of years as iron and nickel slowly cooled within the cores of asteroids that formed with our solar system. This material literally can not be replicated on earth!
The handle and shaft of the cane are top quality Nigerian ebony, the blackest wood in the world. This species’ super high density and unique blackness has lead to high demand for its wood for centuries. Today its a protected species and both rare and expensive. The pins are titanium and give a complementing subdued metallic shimmer.
A fairly heavy cane, it has a substantial feel and great stability. Fully functional. Total length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.
