Ebony and Osage Orange Cane
Ebony and Osage Orange Cane
This ebony and Osage orange wood cane has an edgy, eye-catching presence. Its handle is black Macassar ebony which is a rare and special wood, one of only a small handful of species that has naturally black wood. The shaft is Osage orange wood from Argentina and its color is a bright golden yellow. Both of these wood are dense and durable. Osage orange is actually a fantastic wood for a cane shaft, its a favorite wood choice for wooden archery long bows because its both strong and flexible. This would make a nice daily use cane with a very comfortable handle shape. It’s weight is medium for my work, so it has the substantial feel of a cane made with quality hardwoods, but its not too heavy for most people to carry and enjoy. Total length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.
