A brand new heirloom, this rosewood cane is a design I’m especially proud of and one of my favorite canes of late. It incorporates 4 different species of rosewood, the handle being my personal favorite of all the rosewoods, “Dalbergia Lanceolaria”. This long name is the species’ Latin scientific name, which I use because the species is very obscure and lacks a “common name” in the west. I love it for its subtle colors, contrast, and intricate grain. The divider has two layers of extremely rare purple acacia wood from Australia, a center layer of Brazilian kingwood rosewood, and the thin layers are East Indian rosewood, plus four layers of warm, solid copper. Its an impressive stack and draws the eye. The shaft is Madagascar rosewood, basically any wood from Madagascar is a relic of days past, particularly rosewood or ebony, which has been all cut down decades ago and are now all protected species. This Madagascar rosewood has been in storage for decades it is a beautiful, stable, and rare wood. Each wood in this cane has a purple undertone, its not strong to be a “colorful” cane, but possesses an enjoyable harmony. Daily use functional, art meant to be used.
