Genuine Lignum and Yellowheart Cane
Genuine Lignum and Yellowheart Cane
This modern cane features the densest wood in the world, Guayacan (genuine lignum vitae). Guayacan is the densest of several related wood species that all carry the common name "lignum". The handle is mostly heartwood, the center portion of the tree that provides structure for the plant, with a highly contrast top portion of yellow sapwood. Sapwood was the living part of the tree under the bark, in some species there is a marked visual distinction, such as in Lignum. Genuine lignum is a highly protected species and its wood is very rare, only old stock is available that was harvested long ago, its a privilege to offer it in my work. The divider is bright, golden brass leading into a Brazilian Yellowheart shaft that is lightly figured. Another rare wood, yellow heart is an heirloom quality timber with a world-wide reputation for it's chatoyant grain that’s is very shimmery and bright. Cane is not overly heavy, considering its dense wood construction, it would be suitable for most any users to enjoy daily. Total length measures 38" Tall and can be shortened to fit.
Last image is of a blooming genuine lignum tree in its native range.
