Not only is its color vibrant, but the grain is chatoyant as well with ribbon figure that has a strong glow effect. For many years Padauk has been a favorite exotic wood, readily available at most dealers at reasonable prices. “Padauk” wood has come from many different locations around the tropics in Africa and Asia and the common name encompasses many different species, this Padauk is from Africa: Pterocarpus soyauxii. It has a Danish oil finish that is smooth any lustrous. This is a medium weight cane, suitable for most any user, and is daily use appropriate. Total length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.

Padauk is a photosensitive wood which means it has a higher than normal reaction to UV light, lots of sun-light exposure will darken and fade the wood’s color. Store this cane in a dark space in your home when not in use and you will see very little change overtime.
