Acacia Myall and Zebrawood Cane
Acacia Myall and Zebrawood Cane
A handsome, traditional-handled cane made with rare and beautiful exotic woods. Its handle is “Western Myall Wood” which is an acacia species from Australia. This has a warm color, chatoyant grain, and curl figure, its also profoundly dense and durable. Myall is a close relative of gidgee wood, one of the densest woods in the world. These arid region Australian acacia species are very rare and obscure, and never found in large pieces because the trees are small and stunted. See the last image of an example of a Myall tree in its native range. The divider is brass with an intricate mallee burl wood center. The shaft is Zebrawood, a lighter weight wood comparatively but strong, tough wood that has a good strength to weight ratio. Zebrawood’s decorative, high contrast grain is beautiful. This is a great daily use cane. A medium weight cane that could be used by most anyone. Total length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.
