Bubinga and Quilted Maple Cane
Bubinga and Quilted Maple Cane
A light, bright, and beautiful cane full of shimmery, figured grain and color. The handle is bubinga wood from Africa, a dense rosewood equivalent species that is very highly regarded and beautiful. A solid layer of bright copper in the divider complements the bubinga’s warm colors. The shaft is quilt figured with amazing “bubbly” looking grain with excellent chatoyancy- amazing wood! This is a very high quality piece of quilted maple, its figure is outstanding, but it does have a few defect areas called “honeycombing” which are narrow voids that have been filled in. These defects are minor and do not effect its functionality. Overall a fully functional cane, appropriate for daily use by most anyone. Danish oil finished. Well balanced and easily caried but feels sturdy and strong. Total length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.
