Ebony and Rosewood Cane
Ebony and Rosewood Cane
This is a handsome walking cane made using some very fine exotic woods from around the world. The handle is Kalimantan ebony from the S. E. Asian Island of Borneo. This rare ebony is very dense and heavy and extremely scarce, a unique variety of ebony wood. Its appearance is also unique, it has a chatoyant grain and in bright light it has green highlights in the grain. The divider is a stack of 11 layers of wood and metal, the darkest are Nigerian Ebony, the most colorful are Mexican cocobolo, with brass and finished with matching Kalimantan ebony layers. The shaft is a piece of reddish brown Cocobolo rosewood from Central America. This would make a good daily use cane with its comfortable handle and durable materials, or a fine special occasion piece. Its weight is still medium and could be carried by most anyone but it has the substantial feel of dense woods. Total length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.
