Ebony and Rosewood Cane

$400.00

Here is a beautiful solid ebony traditional walking cane with rosewood and brass. The handle is black ebony, which is one of the most coveted woods in the world, Its amazing how dark this wood is and its totally natural. Black west African ebony, with a Latin scientific name: Diospyros crassiflora, is often called “Gabon Ebony” but this material came from Nigeria. Gabon ebony is endangered, very rare, and very expensive.

The shaft is Macassar ebony, also one of the most prized woods in the world. Its beautiful grain is dark but striped and has a variety of warm colors ranging from black, into chocolate browns, into orangey browns. Macassar ebony is also very dense, durable, and an ideal wood for a strong walking cane that will last for generations. In the divider is a centerpiece of birdseye figured rosewood accompanied by layers of brass and ebony. The cane has a solid and substantial feel. Suitable for daily use but users of small stature may not enjoy. A great combination of style, functionality, and beauty. Total length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.
