Madagascar Rosewood Cane

$375.00

Here is a sharp looking cane made out entirely out of rare Madagascar rosewood in a traditional handle style. Any wood from Madagascar is rare these days, as the island has been almost totally stripped of its forests, save a few national parks and mountain slopes, Rosewood being the most coveted of all the wood. Back decades ago this Madagascar rosewood was imported into the united States. It’s one of the finest tonal woods in the world and has been used extensively for high-end musical instruments. Once the remnants of Madagascar rosewood are used up this wood species will be gone for good. A medium weight cane that would make a good daily use piece. Total length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.

Not the happiest with my pictures of this one. The wood has some chatoyance which makes the wood lighter or darker depending on how the light hits it. Some of the pictures make the cane less harmonious than it is in person.
