Philippine Mahogany & Sapele Cane

$700.00

If you’re intrigued by woods with figured grain and chatoyant effects, than you’ve landed on one that checks those boxes in a big way! From top to bottom this cane is lively, shimmery, colorful, and draws the eye. The handle is rare Philippines mahogany with broad, deep 3D quilt figure. This Mahogany species is much less widely known compared to the classic mahoganies that come from Central and South America, and its a rare one that’s not available on the market anymore. The shaft is a Sapele wood with a fine quilted figure also. Sapele has the look and grain of mahogany but its a different species from Africa that is more dense and durable. Finishing off this cane are solid copper divider layers and pins and two pieces of Honduran Mahogany.

A daily-use functional cane. Cane weight is average, suitable for most anyone to use and has the feel of a quality, handmade, hardwood cane. Total length measures 38” and cane be shortened to fit.

Note: There were a few small honeycomb defects in the handle wood that are filled-in. Difficult to notice, they do not effect functionality.
