The handle on this piece is made from salvage harvested Tasmanian blackwood. The grain is quilt figured that is 3D looking upon close inspection, looking like "waves" within the wood. Tasmanian blackwood is extremely chatoyant with grain that catches and moves with light, an effect accentuated by the grain’s figure, a dynamic feature best appreciated in person. The shaft is Tzalam wood with a light curl figure, another shimmery wood as well. A gorgeous, functional cane for any lover of figured wood grain.
