Verawood & Ipe Cane
Verawood & Ipe Cane
Here’s a lovely, handmade cane that has some extremely durable exotic hardwoods. The handle is verawood from Central America, which is most often called “Lignum vitae” because its a close biological relation to the “genuine” lignum which is the densest wood in the world. Verawood isn’t the densest wood in the world, but its close. Its a protected species, rare, and a beautiful greenish color that gains more green color with age. The shaft Is S. American Ipe wood, another profoundly dense wood that also has a green hue. Ipe is not a rare species, is actually a premium lumber choice for outdoor decking or park benches, etc. But in 2025 it became a protected species and will become more scarce in years to come. This cane is a little on the heavier side, so users of small stature may not enjoy it as much. Would make a great daily user cane. It has a Danish oil finish that is velvety smooth and lustrous. Total length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.
