Madagascan and Honduran Rosewoods Cane
Madagascan and Honduran Rosewoods Cane
Here is a handsome cane crafted from two rare rosewoods, Madagascar rosewood (Handle) and Honduran rosewood (shaft). Basically any wood from Madagascar is a relic of days past, particularly rosewood or ebony, which has been all cut down decades ago and are now all protected species. This Madagascar rosewood has been in storage for quite a few years, its a beautiful, stable, and rare wood. Honduran Rosewood is one of the classic rosewood species from Central America. This dense, stable, and attractive wood has been in high demand for centuries, today the species is classified as critically endangered. It is also a protected species with hopes of allowing the tree to repopulate its native the central American forests. Its timber is still available in the United States, but its scarce, very expensive, and has now been in storage for many years. The divider is also Honduran rosewood but in burl form, one of the highest regarded burl woods in the world with a beautiful and intricate grain at its best. Its accompanied by brass metal for a great color combination. This cane would make a great daily use piece and its neutral, brown colors can be both casual or formal. Its weight is medium and usable by most anyone, but it has the substantial feel of a cane made from dense, quality hardwood. Total length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.
